A devotee of Bhagwan Shri Hanuman, Arjun Singh Rathod is in love with Lisa, a Christian, who was sired by an Indian mother and Caucasian father, runs into problems with his father, who wants him to marry a Hindu. He decides to break all ties with his family, both turn atheist, get married, and re-locate to live in 1920s Bombay. The duo then re-locate to renovate a mansion in Palanpur. Shortly after their arrival Lisa suspects that there is something odd about a particular room in the mansion but Arjun dismisses this. 1920: The Evil Returns is a 2012 Indian horror film written by Vikram Bhatt and directed by Bhushan Patel. The film is a quasi-sequel to a 2008 film 1920, second of the 1920 (film series), and stars Aftab Shivdasani, Tia Bajpai, Vidya Malvade and Sagar Saikia in the lead roles.
To be honest I wasn't having much expectations from 1920, as the cast was new and the songs were bad. But I was wrong. 1920 is a well-directed and well-written horror movie that has a terrific story line and dialogues. The first scene sets the tone and there are hardly any dull moments in the film except for the songs. Vikram Bhatt (director) did a fantastic job and the performances from the lead and supporting actors are fabulous. It is really one of the best horror flicks produced by Bollywood.
You must watch it if you like no-nonsense horror movies with a great story and performances. Adah Sharma's performance was superb, Rajneesh Duggal was good, Raj Zutshi and other supporting actors did their job well. Farzand tugilgan kun bilan tabriklash. 8/10 from me.
Contents • • • • • • • Plot [ ] The film opens with the life of Shivangi, the princess of a royal house in,, now living in with her husband Kunwar Veer Singh. They are a happy couple until one day when Veer develops a minor illness that soon flares up into a disease, shriveling his body and shrinking his head. Veer is hospitalized and his symptoms worsen - his body begins to contort unnaturally and he begins growling in strange languages. The doctors seem to diagnose it as, which is incurable.
Shivangi is frightened; Veer is just not the same and Shivangi's handmaiden, Kesar Ma deems it. Kesar Ma thinks it is because Veer's father, the King, had two wives and the second wife wanted Veer, the heir, out of the way. The film moves to Rajasthan, where Shivangi and her family visit an exorcist for Veer's condition. This exorcist attempts to confront the witch by entering the other realm, through a mirror, but is soon thrown out, too powerless for the witch. The exorcist refers the King to the most powerful spiritual master in the land, Mewar Baba, also known as Jai Singh Gujjar.
